Track Eleven Selects Sentrum Colo to House its Mission Critical Telecommunications IT Infrastructure

May 2013 by Marc Jacob

Sentrum Colo, one of the UK’s leading colocation specialists, has been chosen by IT infrastructure and services provider, Track Eleven, to house its hosted Cisco Unified Communications and contact centre platform - leading to the company saving a third of its data centre costs.

Based in Sussex, Track Eleven operates as a Cisco partner, providing a hosted telecommunications service to SMEs in the UK, which have between 100-7,500 phones. This approach eliminates the need for businesses to invest in any physical infrastructure, apart from handsets, resulting in significant cost-savings and available office space. With customers accessing this mission critical service 24/7 through a WAN connection, high availability and performance are crucial in order to maintain high levels of connectivity.

With the number of customers continually increasing, Track Eleven’s data centre started to reach its physical capacity. At the same time it wanted to expand its capabilities to remain competitive by extending its geographical reach and partnering with multiple carriers. The company needed a solution that would allow it to incorporate stricter resiliency and disaster recovery contingency plans. Martin Woolley, Sales Director at Track Eleven decided the quickest route to this would be through colocation.

When selecting a colocation provider, it needed a facility that was close enough for its engineers to travel to twice a month for maintenance purposes and one that met security industry standards. Above all, it required a data centre that could support a multitude of carriers to meet customer WAN provider requirements. After carrying out thorough market research and evaluating several colocation providers, including NTT and C4L, Track Eleven selected Sentrum Colo.

Woolley explains: “Sentrum Colo ticked all the boxes. Not only was its data centre located near central London and Heathrow, which is ideal for us to travel to, but the facility itself boasts a List-X security status. More importantly, it met our customer requirements by offering an extensive suite of network solutions, including MPLS, that offer increased resiliency and enhanced performance.”

Sentrum Colo’s facility now houses part of Track Eleven’s Cisco Unified Communications IT infrastructure, including physical as well as virtual VMware servers and offer features such as call processing, call recording, voicemail, third party Salesforce CTI and call logging capabilities. Sentrum Colo’s services include remote hands, which gives Track Eleven access to a team of qualified onsite engineers that can deal with any onsite issues 24/7, 365 days a year.

Woolley concludes: “With Sentrum Colo we are getting the best deal all around. Not only does it offer value for money, but its customer service is exceptional and the technical knowledge of its staff is second to none. I can’t praise them highly enough. They’ve gone above and beyond to create a truly smooth experience. Sentrum Colo was also able to meet all our technical requirements, well within our budget.”

Stephen Scott, Managing Director of Sentrum Colo adds: “We strive to work with customers like Track Eleven with whom we can develop a partnership that enables us to offer a broader range of services to our clients. Our team is highly skilled and our expertise is valuable to customers who want to focus on their core business. By understanding our customers and their business, we are able to assist where necessary and go above and beyond to build a deeper level of trust.”
