Secucloud wins new investor: Heilemann Ventures takes a share in the Hamburg-based security specialist

March 2015 by Marc Jacob

secucloud announced that the Berlin-based investment company Heilemann Ventures has decided to invest in the company, which provides security mechanisms for protection against cybercrime and industrial espionage threats. Ferry Heilemann, who is also the co-founder of the German couponing site DailyDeal, will in addition take up a seat on the secucloud advisory board.

The secucloud security mechanisms, which protect users against cybercrime and spying attempts, are located in a private cloud for each individual customer and protect all the connected devices, whether they belong to private households or companies. Being a cloud solution, no software installation or configuration is required and everything – including updates – runs automatically in the background. Regardless of device or running system – desktop computers, smartphones, tablets, smart meters or smart fridges – users benefit from security technologies that, so far, have only been available to large enterprises with plenty of financial muscle. Users also benefit from secucloud’s extremely attractive subscription fees.

The brothers Fabian and Ferry Heilemann became famous in the internet world for having sold their successful company DailyDeal to Google. In 2013 the brothers bought back the company from the internet giant and have since made it profitable. With their investment company Heilemann Ventures, the brothers support ambitious European entrepreneurs with disruptive business models in the internet and software industry.
