How does it work?

It’s very simple: just insert the flash drive into your desktop or laptop PC or launch the Nomad Vault Tablet application on your Android or iOS tablet... it’s that easy!
After entering your password, you will have an encrypted channel over which to access remote servers.

This solution offers three main advantages:
1. You will enjoy a 100% secure, risk-free solution for using data, software and files stored on the cloud.
2. Thanks to automatic saves, you will not lose anything if your hard drive crashes.
3. You can work anywhere, any time, and never leave the slightest trace on the computer, which is extremely convenient if you need to log into a workstation that is not your own: data confidentiality is guaranteed.
Thanks to the flash drive’s functional intelligence, it is not even necessary to transit via an Internet portal - or therefore to run the risks associated with potential online security breaches. It’s the only solution on the market to offer this major innovation!

On a tablet (Apple iOS, Android)

1. Your flash drive’s local intelligence is replaced by a Nomad Vault application (free for read-only mode and €3/year for read-write).
2. The drive’s strong authentication functionality is replaced by a code that is sent by SMS to the user’s mobile telephone at the time of log-in.

What happens if your drive is lost/stolen?

With MDK Solutions, you have nothing to fear!
Your data are not lost: the files are synchronized with cloud servers in France.
If a malicious person gets hold of your drive, he or she won’t be able to use it: its content is encrypted and therefore unexploitable.
At your request, MDK Solutions can also blacklist the drive, making it unusable.
An increasingly effective solution
The Nomad Vault solution is continuously being improved to satisfy its users’ needs.
The new version was brought online in early March 2015. Automatic saves are faster, security is enhanced and new functionalities have been added, including:

– VSS back-ups, which save files that are reserved or blocked by their application (such as when those files are open), so long as the application accepts the VSS process (namely EBP software, Outlook messaging and Microsoft Office);
– improved collaborative management of shared files: files blocked for other users during updates, possibility to interact with blocked files (in read-only mode, notification sent to the user making the updates, or forced unblocking of the file), with optional e-mail notification when updates are made to a shared file;
– data deleted from the Nomad Vault window are placed in the recycling bin. They can be restored at any time during the next 30 days. After that period, the deletion becomes permanent.
