it-sa emphasizes its position as an outstanding trade fair for IT security with growth on two fronts: 357 exhibitors* and over 6,900 trade visitors* make the fifth edition of it-sa a thoroughly successful gathering of the IT security sector.

Congress@it-sa: know-how transfer for specialists
The second edition of Congress@it-sa excelled with a congress programme extended to four days and tracks for IT security professionals from specific sectors. “Congress@it-sa stands for even more know-how and therefore offers our visitors real added value. One special highlight at it-sa 2013 was the Annual Conference of State and Local Authority IT Security Representatives, which celebrated its successful premiere here,” says Frank Venjakob, it-sa Director Exhibitions at NürnbergMesse.
IT security: top issue for politics and associations
State Secretary Cornelia Rogall-Grothe, the German government’s IT Representative, Andreas Könen, Vice President of the Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (Federal Office for Information Security), and Winfried Holz, Board Member of BITKOM, spoke at the opening ceremony of it-sa.
With the advancing digitization in mind, State Secretary Cornelia Rogall-Grothe pointed out the special importance assumed by IT security as a location factor and a prerequisite for securing prosperity – both today and in the future. Winfried Holz advocated standard data protection regulations at European Union level to increase the trust in data processing. Andreas Könen described Prism and Tempora as an “alert” that has made a broad public aware of the constantly high potential threat.
