– Consequences: data flow
– Provenance: user shell
– Means of attack: no proof of concept, no attack
– Ability of attacker: expert (4/4)
– Confidence: confirmed by the editor (5/5)
– Diffusion of the vulnerable configuration: high (3/3)
– Creation date: 08/12/2008
IMPACTED PRODUCTS

DESCRIPTION
The D-Bus environment is used by applications to exchange
information.
Due to a logic error, the default policy of D-Bus allows
applications to send and receive messages. If there is no explicit
"deny" rule, messages are allowed.
A malicious application can therefore send messages to other
applications, if there is no filtering rule to forbid it.
