Trusted Logic releases NFC Protocol Stack for Android™

October 2009 by Marc Jacob

Trusted Logic announces the launch
of its TRUSTED NFC software platform for Google Android operating system.

Trusted NFC is a complete software platform enabling mobile applications
to use handset NFC connectivity. It provides simple interfaces for
developing applications, either in native or using Java™. Trusted Logic
has already developed the JSR257 interface for J2ME/MIDP applications.
Now Trusted NFC provides a similar interface for Android applications.

Trusted NFC can be ported on any mobile operating system. Trusted Logic
facilitates and speeds up the integration process by offering reference
implementations on the main operating systems, such as the one on
Android that is now available. Reference implementations are available
on PC simulation environments like the Android emulator and as well as
on various mobile platforms, using the NXP PN544 NFC controller as the
reference for validation. Trusted Logic also tests the reference
implementations’ interoperability with smart cards and smart labels from
different suppliers.

NFC technology enables use cases such as mobile payment, and can
therefore benefit from Trusted Logic’s Trusted Foundations™ software to
secure NFC applications.
