Steria to provide secure information system for the National Nuclear Laboratory

June 2014 by Marc Jacob

Steria, a provider of IT-enabled business services, has today announced that it has won a contract with the National Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) to provide and support a secure information system for NNL at its Sellafield site. The contract, starting this year and running until 2021, demonstrates Steria’s expanding footprint in secure systems thanks to its specialist expertise and its commitment to building trusted partnerships with clients.

A key factor in Steria being selected was their experience as a trusted systems integrator for the design, installation, commissioning and through life support of similar accredited systems for a range of UK Government client organisations.

Both parties share similar missions and values in their respective industries, steeped in business collaboration. Like NNL, Steria aspires to be at the forefront of innovation and provides truly independent and agnostic solutions for its clients.

Chris Bates, Managing Director of Defence and Emergency Services at Steria, said: “Our experience of running sensitive information and communication systems for both public and private sector clients will reassure NNL that they’ve made the right selection of partner. It’s a highly complex area, but we bring the specialist skills that make the complex simple. We look forward to working closely with NNL in future, to help them achieve their business goals and deliver secure services to their clients.”

Jeremy Davison, Head of Security at NNL, commented: “We see Steria as a trusted partner with its strong track record of running secure information systems for a number of Government organisations. The cultural fit was also an important factor for us. We’re confident Steria will provide a cost-effective, highly secure service that will ensure our assets are properly protected.”
