App-DNA Announces Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 Web Application Compatibility Assessment Beta Program
April 2010 by Marc Jacob
App-DNA Inc. announced from the Microsoft Management Summit (MMS) a beta program to test the compatibility of web applications with Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) using the AppTitude application compatibility testing platform. With this new program, App-DNA provides a technology platform that empowers IT organizations to efficiently migrate their entire application portfolio to the optimized desktop - including Windows 7 and IE8.
Currently enterprises use AppTitude for application compatibility initiatives around Windows 7, Microsoft App-V, Citrix XenApp and Windows Server 2008. Through the AppTitude IE8 beta program, App-DNA now also provides a unique approach to address the blockers surrounding web application compatibility. With the new beta capabilities, AppTitude automates the capture of the web application source, and tests the application DNA against specifically designed heuristic algorithms. Enterprises benefit by learning the behavior of their web applications and choosing their preferred Intelligent Remediation™ path to accelerate the deployment. Because AppTitude captures all of the application “DNA” for analysis and determines the suggested remediation path, AppTitude provides a departure from traditional, time-consuming manual runtime based testing processes, repurposing packaging tools not inherently designed for application compatibility, or the risky deployment of applications without testing.
For Windows 7 and Microsoft App-V application virtualization projects, AppTitude has been proven to provide a 300-500% return on investment. AppTitude currently accelerates Windows 7 and App-V implementations by quickly testing application estates for issues and remediating those issues either through Intelligent Remediation™ or autoremediation. Now AppTitude will also speed IE8 migrations by ensuring web applications are tested and remediated, helping the IT team to more quickly implement the new technology and roll it out to more satisfied users.
