AVG Technologies Signs Yandex as Search Partner in Turkey
August 2013 by Marc Jacob
AVG Technologies N.V. (NYSE: AVG), the provider of Internet and mobile security, privacy and optimization to 155 million active users, today announced a new search and distribution relationship with Russia’s leading Internet search provider, Yandex.
Generating more than 60 per cent of all search traffic in Russia, Yandex is the country’s most popular search engine, making it one of only a few examples where a local player is dominating the domestic search market. Yandex also operates in Turkey, where it launched a search engine and a range of other web-based services in 2011, as well as Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
Under the terms of the distribution arrangement, Yandex Search will be offered by AVG to premium users of AVG Secure Search in Turkey alongside other search providers.
AVG Secure Search provides an additional security layer for users while searching and surfing online. By checking pages before they are accessed to identify any infected websites, AVG helps users protect their identity, personal information and devices.
