The MULTOS Consortium joins the IoT Security Foundation

October 2016 by Marc Jacob

The MULTOS Consortium, a group of international blue
chip organisations responsible for the promotion and development of the MULTOS
specifications, announced today that it has become the latest member of the IoT
Security Foundation (IoTSF), a collaborative, non-profit, international organisation
responding to the complex challenges of security in the expansive hyper-connected
world.

As a member of IoTSF, the MULTOS Consortium will join forces with IoT security
professionals, product and service vendors, integrators, government agencies and
many other organisations within the IoT ecosystem to raise the quality bar and to
tackle the pervasive security issues facing IoT.

Paul Wilson, Commercial Manager of the MULTOS Consortium, says "We are very pleased
to join the rapidly expanding IoT Security Foundation as we feel the fundamental
messages of; Security First, Fit for Purpose, and Resilience, fully align with the
MULTOS technology benefits for connected devices. The mission of the foundation to
promote clear best practice and appropriate security is an area where the MULTOS
Consortium can contribute significant value, and we look forward to working with the
IoT Security Foundation to help secure the future connected eco-systems."

John Moor, Managing Director of IoTSF, says "Ensuring the security of the Internet
of Things is a significant challenge of our time. The world is becoming
hyper-connected and this represents an expanding threat surface which can be
exploited in many ways by adversaries of all types. It is important that leaders of
industry work together to eliminate vulnerabilities across the IoT spectrum. We’re
therefore delighted to welcome the MULTOS Consortium to the ranks of the IoT
Security Foundation as a founding member and support the critical mission of making
it safe to connect."
