Secunia Appoints Security Industry Veteran to CTO Post

Secunia, a provider of IT security solutions for vulnerability management, today announced the appointment of long-time security industry veteran Santeri Kangas as Chief Technology Officer. Kangas will head up the company’s Product and Technology Group.
Kangas comes to Secunia after spending the last 23 years at online security and privacy firm F-Secure where he served in a number of key technology leadership positions including Chief Architect, Vice President of Research, Vice President of Operator Delivery and Chief Technology Officer. He brings substantial technical knowledge in cybersecurity and cloud computing, and has a strong track record in building award-winning software products for consumers, corporate and telecommunications operator channels.
In the course of his career, Kangas has worked to successfully set up, lead and optimize multinational cybersecurity laboratory and product development organizations. He led F-Secure Security Laboratories until 2009, turning it into one of the leading Anti-Malware Laboratories in the world. He also had a central role in establishing F-Secure as a global R&D organization. Kangas has led professional service organizations and cloud production operations, delivering personal cloud and internet security as software-as-a-service solutions for more than 220 telecommunications operators.
