Safran deploys "serious game" to enhance employee awareness of data protection
July 2014 by Marc Jacob
Safran has launched a 3D game called "Sentinel", an original approach to raising employee awareness of how to behave in the fight against industrial espionage. This is a major challenge for Safran because of its heavy investments in Research & Development and expanded presence in increasingly competitive international markets.
Sentinel was developed in conjunction with Getzem Secure, a publisher of interactive software to raise employee security awareness. This educational game allows each player to become a "special agent". Operating in different environments – office, business trip, etc. – the agent has to unmask a spy who has stolen sensitive information concerning an innovative project.
Using this interactive and entertaining “serious game”, both new and seasoned Safran employees will learn about the security rules applied within the Group, and also learn how they can help protect vital information.
Sentinel was named "Best Learning Game" of the year in Europe by an international jury at the European Serious Games Awards 2014, and received its award at the annual ceremony in Bucharest, Romania in early July.
