Michael V. Wall Joins Atempo Board of Directors
April 2008 by Marc Jacob
Atempo, Inc., a provider of cross-platform data protection and archiving solutions, announced that
storage industry veteran Michael V. Wall has joined Atempo’s Board of
Directors. Mr. Wall, a founding member of the management team that developed
Intel’s highly successful storage business, brings 29 years of overall
industry leadership and 10 years of storage experience to help guide Atempo
as the company continues its momentum during a period of expansion and
integration in its product line.
During his 15 years at Intel Corporation, Mr. Wall was responsible for
managing all aspects of product and business development for the storage
business, enabling the integration of standard microprocessors into a
majority of storage solutions in production today. The result has been
explosive growth in the number of storage systems shipped and the creation
of new product categories in the mid-range and low end. Mr. Wall worked
closely with many of the multi-national OEMs that manufacture and distribute
servers, workstations, and storage solutions. He was previously the general
manager for Intel’s Supercomputer Systems Division, which introduced Intel’s
x86 architecture into the high performance computing market with massively
parallel systems.
Prior to joining Intel, Mr. Wall served as a general manager responsible for
North American Operations at supercomputing company Cray Research. He also
held several marketing management positions at IBM Corporation.
