July 2014 by Marc Jacob
Exostar, whose cloud-based solutions enable secure, cost-effective business-to-business collaboration, announced its Federated Identity Service (FIS) has received interoperability certification for its public key infrastructure (PKI) services that are based on the latest National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SHA-2 standard. Exostar has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Office of the CIO that asserts Exostar’s FIS PKI certificates can be used to access DoD applications and other secure access points via the Federal Bridge Certification Authority (FBCA).
Originally formed by global Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry leaders, Exostar provides proven cloud-based solutions to improve collaboration, information sharing and supply chain management to thousands of companies who work closely with government agencies. This new certification will allow Exostar customers collaborating with federal agencies to utilize Exostar-issued digital Medium Level of Assurance certificates for authentication and sharing sensitive information in a secure environment that encompasses partnering companies or government agencies.
