Daniel Österbergh joins ServiceNow as Area Vice President Channel & Alliances, EMEA
March 2017 by Marc Jacob
ServiceNow has appointed Daniel Österbergh as Vice President Channel & Alliances for EMEA. In this role, Österbergh has aggressive plans to increase the contribution of the channel to 80% of all EMEA sales by recruiting new strategic partners, tapping into opportunities with key line of business functions, and rolling out a new go-to-market strategy for the commercial space.
Reporting into Tony Beller, Worldwide VP for Channel & Alliances, Österbergh will lead a growing team of regional channel and alliance managers working out of the UK, France, Germany and Southern Europe. While IT service management (ITSM) will continue to be important, the team will give particular focus to building relationships with channel partners to target key business unit functions, including customer service management, SecOps, and HR.
Österbergh will work closely with ServiceNow’s strategy group and also ServiceNow’s EMEA VP of Sales, Philip van der Wilt, to ensure complete alignment of field and channel sales.
Österbergh brings more than 10 years’ experience working in senior channel roles for IT companies. Prior to joining ServiceNow, he was senior channel director, EMEA Europe West at EMC, where he grew the contribution of the channel business from approximately 50% of overall revenue to 80%, in five years. Österbergh also worked at Avaya as Head of SMB for more than five years, where he developed the company’s SMB channel sales strategy to expand its go-to-market strategy beyond direct sales.
On 25 January 2017, ServiceNow announced the financial results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year 2016, with fiscal year 2016 GAAP results showing total revenues of $1,390.5 million, representing 38% year-over-year growth.
ServiceNow EMEA is actively contributing to this growth and rapidly increasing its customer base month-on-month. Partners play a key role in ServiceNow’s regional go-to-market strategy, with partnerships in place with more than 200+ companies across EMEA.
