CS & Elektrobit (EB) enter a partnership to offer new security functions for very high bitrate mobile data and voice communications

March 2015 by Marc Jacob

At the Mobile World Congress, CS, a designer, integrator and operator, and Elektrobit Wireless Communications Ltd. (EB), a Finnish company providing secure LTE smartphones, will be announcing a partnership to offer new security functions for high bitrate voice and data communications for EB Tough Mobile LTE smartphone.

Within this framework, CS and EB will be bringing together the hardened EB Tough Mobile terminal produced by EB with MONOLITH network and app security developed by CS.

MONOLITH features a French hardware component with micro-SD form factor developed and manufactured by ALTIS. Directly integrated into the hardened EB Tough Mobile, it has its own data storage capacity (two versions: 4 and 16 GB). Trust services are carried on the device itself, offering management of symmetrical and asymmetrical keys, robust authentication, and e-signatures. The integration of the security circuit into both the hardened end user device and the corporate access system makes it possible to secure the entire network access chain by reinforcing security where interception is easiest and most harmful.

This means that MONOLITH provides hardware-based security for network and encrypted voice/data applications that is more robust than all existing solutions.
The EB Tough Mobile terminal natively carries physical security components such as protection against sabotage. Its special secure HW features detect and indicate any attempt at physical intrusion into the smartphone. The EB Tough Mobile terminal is completely rugged, dustproof and waterproof (certified IP67) and its design fully responds to user requirements.
