BT Selects Apperian To Power Its New Mobile Application Management Solution

July 2013 by Marc Jacob

Apperian, Inc., the enterprise mobile application management (MAM) pioneer, announced that BT, one of the world’s leading providers of communications solutions and services, is launching BT Mobile Application Management powered by Apperian. This new solution comes as a key part of BT’s Enterprise Mobility Portfolio to coincide with the launch of its BYOD campaign – Beyond Your Device. With Apperian, BT intends to support its enterprise customers in their pursuit of transformation through mobility, by providing them with capabilities to deploy enterprise applications on corporate or employee-owned mobile devices through a familiar consumer style app store experience.

BT Mobile Application Management lets enterprises authenticate, secure, manage and deploy mobile apps through an easy-to-use portal. As a result, employees are able to easily find and access mobile apps through private and enterprise branded app stores. By integrating with enterprise security authentication systems, the BT solution is designed to ensure that only the right apps are offered to the right employees, thus creating a more productive workforce. The solution also protects and manages mobile apps and data without installing intrusive technology on users’ devices, making it suitable for both corporate and employee-owned mobile devices.

BT selected Apperian’s award-winning enterprise mobile app management (MAM) platform because of the breadth and depth of capabilities for enabling enterprises to manage the complete lifecycle of corporate mobile apps. Apperian also brings a strong track record empowering global enterprises to protect and manage mobile apps and data without requiring intrusive and excessive technology on users’ devices. This unique approach makes it easy for organizations to roll out their mobile enterprise strategy with a seamless user experience, ensuring the highest level of user adoption. Under the terms of the agreement, BT will offer Mobile Application Management services from Apperian to its customers worldwide.

“BYOD is changing the enterprise mobility landscape,” said Jonathan Brasnett, head of global mobility capability at BT Global Services. “Demand for enterprise apps is growing. By adding mobile application management from Apperian into our portfolio, we can help our customers take full advantage of the benefits that mobile apps can provide to workers. This solution helps our customers securely manage mobility at the app level and eliminate complexity and the need for additional infrastructure.”

“Mobile app utilization in the enterprise continues to skyrocket and organizations now need to be thinking about their mobile app strategy and new ways to ensure adoption,” said David Patrick, CEO at Apperian. “Adding Apperian’s solution to its Managed Mobility portfolio compliments BT’s device management solutions by allowing its enterprise customers to focus on managing the individual apps of interest. It also helps them take full advantage of the potential business opportunities that arise as a result of the growing trend of enterprise mobile apps.”
