The International Forum Security and Safety Technologies, along its 16 years, has gained a strong position. Which are the reasons of this high level of the show?

There are 3 main reasons of the Forum’s strong position.
First of all it is the native Russian trade show created for the industry needs by security and safety professionals with respect to market specific and demand. SST Forum is recognized by the industry and volume buyers as being very focused on the latest technologies and the environment, regulations and projects, regional and nationwide distribution.

Secondly SST Forum organizers always invest in services for exhibitors and content for visitors. The business programme of SST Forum is always up-to-date and counts tens of conferences and seminars, discussions, keynote addresses and high level meetings. Many topics are covered and different formats are used: technology, business strategy, projects presentations, buyers conferences, master classes, round table discussions, competitions and so on. This year we build special demo zones to help visitors to play with hard- and software, compare the features of the solutions and products. It means better presence, awareness and more qualified leads for the exhibitors same time.

Thirdly the SST Forum is very innovative event within all its long life. Many new solutions in exhibitions industry were implemented for the Forum participants before these innovations appear on other technology trade shows in Russia. Electronic and online show catalogues, live video broadcasts, SMM, buyers’ conferences, award ceremonies and so on. The International Forum Security and Safety Technologies has always been supported by the State (Government) and this year 20 Ministers and Authorities gave their professional and governmental support. The strong and improved support from government authorities and professional associations brings to exhibitors big number of contacts with enterprise class buyers and provides with not only latest information of investments in security and safety in Russian economy but relationships and right context for making business and introducing the latest developments, new products and solutions. Many of exhibitors use these opportunities to enter the market, to find right distributors and to sell their competence and experience. The buyers’ conferences provide exhibitors with right contacts and demand helping them to make big deals. There are several very popular opportunities the exhibitors usually take: buyers’ conference sponsorship, short presentations in solutions sections of the conferences, additional stand in the conference area to be close to vertical market you want to sell to.

This year we focus on counterterrorism at transport, new developments in security for energy sector, updated regulations of dangerous objects and plants insurance, special ways of providing security of art and cultural objects, situation on sport arenas in perspective of Olympic Games and World Football Championship, Safety on roads, Projects of safe town, and some others. The State also supports our new programme for exhibitors "Innovations in Security For Homeland ".

International companies and Russian market. Which is the actual situation for an International company and which are the future possibilities which are taking place ?

International Companies are particularly important for us, and thanks to our organizer experience, we know what they are looking for in such a huge and specific market as Russian.

Especially when our customers/prospect is from another Country our job is to work with them “side by side”, meeting and following their needs, not just at the exhibition, but also before and after the show. For an International Company to take part in Russia’s business show means to know how to ship out their products, which the best freight forwards are, what the Russian customs regulation says, which the best hotels are and so on… each of this information can be crucial very often, in particular when we are talking of a small-medium Company. Groteck Business Media gives the right information and helps it’s customers as well, we are doing special partnerships to reduce their customs and freight costs. Less logistic costs makes a customer more happy and ready to come back to our events.

Then in the course of the show a customer, wants to have a good technical assistant during the set up day, for instance, these details make the difference for a foreign Company. When the show is over, as usual we get feed-backs from our customers to understand what we can do to improve their satisfaction. Every “constructive criticism” which comes from our customers for us is a big gift that helps us to improve and build the best event we can do.

A company from another country needs to understand how the security market works here in Russia, to meet with major players and to get a feeling of the situation and to get right information. To provide this we organize special distributor sessions, introductory events, market and business environment overview for new exhibitors. And we do one more thing. One month before the show we ask all exhibitors from other countries to submit us a form describing their interests and their products’ features.
