Active Circle Releases Active Data Mover
September 2013 by Marc Jacob
Active Circle, a developer of software solutions for managing large data volumes, announced today the release of its Active Data Mover, a powerful tool for automating the movement of data from primary to secondary storage.
The Active Data Mover is designed to move data off the expensive primary storage devices such as SANs, scale-out NAS or high-speed disk arrays, and to provide a seamless integration with Active Circle as the secondary storage.
As secondary storage, Active Circle provides a disk or tape-based secure storage space with unlimited scalability and infinite data retention. It keeps the directory structure unchanged to let the users find their data easily.
The Active Data Mover offers copy, sync or move policies, data filters, a scheduler and a monitoring interface. The Active Data Mover engine is a web-based application running on a standard server. It integrates with the rest of the Active Circle software suite using the AMC, the Active Circle web services API.
