Infortrend announces new additions to its eonnas 1000 series

May 2012 by Marc Jacob

Infortrend® announced two new additions to its EonNAS 1000 Series, the EonNAS 1310 and 1510 storage arrays featuring 2U/8-bay and 2U/12-bay rackmount form factors respectively. The new systems offer powerful unified storage to help SMB users optimise file sharing, IP SAN applications, data storage and data backup.

Compared to the other arrays in the EonNAS 1000 Series, the 1U/4-bay EonNAS 1100, the EonNAS 1310 and 1510 deliver higher performance, larger capacities, and even better hardware reliability thanks to redundant power supplies. The EonNAS 1510 also offers higher RAM capacity.

The EonNAS 1310 features an Intel Celeron dual-core 2.5GHz processor, 2GB DDR3 RAM and two Gigabit LAN ports and with eight drive bays, storage capacity can reach 24TB.The EonNAS 1510 delivers even better performance with an Intel Core i3 dual-core 3.3GHz processor, up to 8GB DDR3 RAM and two Gigabit LAN ports, while users can reach a storage capacity of 36TB with 12 available drive bays. In addition, the EonNAS 1510 also offers extended connectivity options including six Gigabit LAN ports (EonNAS 1510-1) and two Gigabit LAN ports plus two 10Gigabit LAN ports (EonNAS 1510-2).

As part of Infortrend’s EonNAS family, the newly-announced solutions offer comprehensive protocol support, enabling SMB users to serve file-based and block-based applications with a single system and achieve easy file sharing between different workstations in the office. Data storage is enhanced by advanced features including data deduplication and compression for optimised resource utilisation and the ZFS file system for end-to-end data integrity. Data is further protected by features such as snapshot technology, which offers space-efficient differential data copies to quickly roll back data or restore files in the event of data errors.
