Also at Infosecurity Europe, WatchGuard will be presenting its new WatchGuard Firebox T10 UTM solution that adds a new level of enterprise security to SOHO environments. With 70 percent of high-value employees working at home at least once a week, the new appliance allows network administrators to ensure robust protection of employees who are often managing their companies’ most critical intellectual property and sensitive information. With WatchGuard’s cloud-based RapidDeploy capability, the Firebox T10 instantly self-configures and begins reporting back to the administrator’s central console as soon as it is plugged in.

In a recent global WatchGuard survey of IT professionals, more than 82 percent said that they allow employees to access the corporate network from a small office or home office location, yet 56 percent feel basic VPN access provided adequate protection. “VPNs have long been the standard for securing home-based employees, but if your SOHO device is not protected at the same level as your enterprise network, the VPN tunnel simply provides a weak link into your business,” says Corey Nachreiner, director of security strategy at WatchGuard.
