An unauthenticated attacker can send a malicious query to the API
of VMware ESX or ESXi, in order to stop the management service.

DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY

The VMware ESX and ESXi products use the vSphere API to be
interfaced with various tools.

However, one API function does not check its parameters, so a
fatal error occurs, and stops the daemon. Technical details are
unknown.

An unauthenticated attacker can therefore send a malicious query
to the API of VMware ESX or ESXi, in order to stop the management
service.
