May 2016 by Vigil@nce

This bulletin was written by Vigil@nce : https://vigilance.fr/offer

SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY

A local attacker can manipulate data on ext4 on the Linux kernel,
in order to alter a file.

Impacted products: Fedora, Linux.

Severity: 1/4.

Creation date: 20/04/2016.

DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY

The Linux kernel uses the ext4 filesystem.

However, when it reassembles file fragments, a computation error
leads to file corruptions.
