December 2015 by Vigil@nce

This bulletin was written by Vigil@nce : http://vigilance.fr/offer

SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY

An attacker can send a malicious packet to F5 BIG-IP vCMP, in
order to trigger a denial of service.

Impacted products: BIG-IP Hardware, TMOS.

Severity: 2/4.

Creation date: 16/10/2015.

DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY

The F5 BIG-IP product supports vCMP (Virtual Clustered
Multiprocessing).

However, when a malicious packet is received from the LAN, a fatal
error occurs in vCMP.

An attacker can therefore send a malicious packet to F5 BIG-IP
vCMP, in order to trigger a denial of service.
