Vigil@nce - Citrix XenDesktop VDA: ignoring access control rules

December 2012 by Vigil@nce

This bulletin was written by Vigil@nce : http://vigilance.fr/offer

SYNTHESIS OF THE VULNERABILITY

An attacker can use local USB ports with Virtual Desktop Agent
even if they are disabled in the XenDesktop policy.

Impacted products: XenDesktop

Severity: 2/4

Creation date: 12/12/2012

DESCRIPTION OF THE VULNERABILITY

The product Virtual Desktop Agent allows to make local USB ports
usable by a remote virtual machine manages by XenDesktop.

XenDesktop allows to forbid this redirection. However, Virtual
Desktop Agent does not take into account this change.

An attacker can therefore use local USB ports with Virtual Desktop
Agent even if they are disabled in the XenDesktop policy.
