Tufin: Researchers discover DDoS botnet, Enemybot

April 2022 by John Moran, Technical Director, Business Development, Tufin

Researchers last week discovered a new DDoS botnet, tracked as Enemybot, that has targedted several routers and web servers by exploiting known vulnerabilities. The comment concerning the botnet, which targets multiple architectures, including arm, bsd, x64, and x86.

John Moran, Technical Director, Business Development, Tufin explain:

“The continued use of well-known vulnerabilities as initial attack vectors underscores the significant challenges faced by enterprises. The sheer volume of vulnerabilities and effort required to address each one forces enterprises to be reactive, prioritizing those which are already being actively exploited, instead of proactively addressing potential risk. Today’s dynamic threat landscape necessitates that enterprises employ all available sources of information to contextualize vulnerabilities, including network insights, application inventories, and risk management solutions, to proactively identify those which expose the enterprises to the greatest actual risk.”
