The Deutsche Telekom subsidiary is expanding its security portfolio together with RSA

November 2013 by Marc Jacob

T-Systems and RSA, the security division of EMC, have joined forces to help in the fight against cyber-attacks. With the new cyber security partnership, the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary is expanding its own security portfolio and can offer corporate customers a wide range of security solutions, from consulting and analysis to dynamic protection against attacks. The aim is to help detect cyber-attacks much earlier and more accurately. The combination of modern IT security technology, expertise and access to data sources, such as the Group’s own early warning systems, makes it possible to develop new safety systems for corporate customers.

The cyber security partnership with RSA is a major building block for the development of the Cyber Security business unit. The new business unit combines ICT skills and security know-how from within the DT Group to offer a full range of security solutions to corporate customers.

Prevention, detection and response are equally important fields of activity

The two companies will use their combined expertise on cyber security and protection of complex IT landscapes to analyze corporate customers’ systems and provide consulting services. The service portfolio ranges from offering an analysis of individual cyber risks for companies, advising companies on cyber security strategies and architectures and all the way to delivering advanced cyber security services. Security experts are working together to develop operating systems for customers that constantly keep the company’s IT security up to date and that can dynamically respond to attacks. These next-generation Security Operation Centers (SOC) combine the latest technology with the expertise of cyber defense specialists from T-Systems and RSA. Prevention, detection and response to security incidents are equally important fields of activity in this process model.
