SERMA SAFETY & SECURITY acquires OPALE

SERMA SAFETY & SECURITY - called S3 - was officially launched in June 2016 and acquired the company OPALE Security on September 28th, 2016. Through this operation, S3 strengthens its Consulting activity and offers global solutions for system security.
Thanks to the historical activities of SERMA Group in the electronics industry and experience of nearly 20 years in product security, the SERMA SAFETY & SECURITY experts master product security from the chip to the system, including hardware, software and information systems.
This acquisition enables S3 strengthen its Consulting offer with the double security expertise in connected devices (IoT) and information systems of OPALE Security.
The company gathers evaluation and consulting activities relating to safety and security of systems and products. It completes its spectrum of expertise by proposing a global offer for complex and connected systems to its customers, built upon complementarities and synergies of both entities.
S3 also wants to play an important role in training around its business. It will draw on the offers, certifications and expertise of each entity.
Through this acquisition, S3 completes its geographic coverage. Established in Bordeaux and Paris, the company integrates the Rennes site of OPALE Security and expects to expand it within the Britain Cyber Pole of Excellence. With these new assets, the company has plans for growth and recruitment of experts on all of its sites.
The founder of OPALE Security, Yann Allain, will manage the S3 Security Consulting activity and will report to the CEO Olivier Duchmann.
