SC Magazine awards five stars to gateProtect’s GPZ 2500

gateProtect, a German provider of Unified Threat Management (UTM) systems, announced today that the IT security publication SC Magazine US (www.scmagazineus.com) bestowed its top marks to the GPZ 2500 in a recent test. The next-generation firewall solution scored 5 out of 5 points with its broad range of functions along with its performance and user-friendliness.
The next-generation firewalls in the GPZ 2500 series are designed for large enterprises and protect customers from malware, viruses and spam. They also feature an intrusion prevention system (IPS) and a Web content filter. The current Version 9 includes a completely re-engineered software architecture that delivers increased performance, security and stability as well as several enhancements to the IPS.
Five stars for the right combination
But functionality alone is not enough. IT managers still need to adapt the functions – which are crucial for the security of enterprise data – to suit their companies’ specific requirements. For this reason, it is particularly gratifying for managers when the product is easy to set up, configure and operate. The respected US-based SC Magazine confirmed in its test that users will have no problem at all with gateProtect’s GPZ 2500 in this regard. The testers were particularly impressed with the eGUI interface and noted that it greatly facilitates the manual configuration of user groups and areas. In its conclusion, the magazine also noted that the eGUI graphical interface was extremely flexible and easy to manage.
