Ruckus Wireless, the smart mobile networking company, provided the wifi network installed specifically for the match France – China (0-1) for the press service and the 200 journalists present to cover the event.
A few days before the 2010 World Cup, the French team met China in a friendly match on June 4.
For this major sporting event, several smart WiFi ZoneFlex Access Points (based on the standard IEEE 802.11n) from Ruckus Wireless were installed by the integrator Contact OI based on the island of La Reunion: one access point ZoneFlex 7942 was installed to cover the needs of the press service (up to 70 simultaneous connections during the game) and another access point ZoneFlex 7942 was installed in the press room for the needs of journalists and photographers (up to 100 simultaneous connections during and after the game).
«With the ease of installation and the speed of configuration of Ruckus Wireless’s access points, we installed the network in 3 hours and thanks to the quality and reliability of their coverage, no network outage occurred during the game «said Aurelius Pavia, Contact IO manager.
