Risks to humanity by Lubna Brioual is published

October 2022 by Marc Jacob

This book highlights the first lessons for corporate cyber protection in an unprecedented COVID-19 situation and reveals the plural and interrelated: the ignorance of the people, the level of dependence of our indebted economy, the power of international finance and digital, the issues of corruption, resources, environment, democracy and human hacking.

The aim is to discover ways of reducing the impact of future systemic crises that will affect all areas: satellites, the environment, security and many others. The aim is to move from unpreparedness to anticipation.

The increasingly prevalent climate of insecurity (Covid-19, physical violence, confrontations, terrorism, wars, etc.) tends to make us forget that cybercrime is developing and upsetting all aspects of our society. Our world is definitely marked by the growing number of damages caused by cyber attacks, which impact both the French economy and geopolitics.

The massive use of cyberspace via new technologies has given rise to security and safety issues. In recent years, cyber-bullying, cyber-terrorism, remote surveillance and misinformation have developed. In the long term, these elements are constantly influencing public opinion and are the cause of widespread distrust.

However, this is not a time for lamenting, but for action: everything has to be rethought. What will our struggles be? What innovations are we heading towards? Shouldn’t we integrate a strategy that challenges the pre-established patterns? Is a more responsible cyber-protection possible?

This book brilliantly answers all these questions.
