RES Software announces the recent deployment at Prosol Management

May 2012 by Marc Jacob

Prosol Management manages a large catalog of fruits and vegetables to be delivered within 150 points of sale with a goal of preserving the freshness and quality of the food. Its network of stores is mainly located in eastern France, just outside Paris and in the south.

A centralized IT implementation

"The rapid growth of stores and the demands of this market strongly impact our process of deploying desktops in terms of time and speed of availability of local user environments. Within Prosol Management, we believe that IT is a key driver for development and that it must support our users’ needs, "said Sebastien Bossu, CIO Prosol Management.

The IT department is based in Lyon and employs 12 staff to manage 400 total workstations, including 200 located in the central purchasing headquarters. The IT organization has a physical infrastructure of 10 servers and 30 virtual servers at three locations: headquarters, central purchasing and logistics centers. The infrastructure has a Disaster Recovery Plan at a remote site and is connected via an MPLS solution at the store level. The entire system distributes thirty applications.

IT Problem: distributed user environments rquiring optimizing response time
The IT team supports the network of 150 stores. By expanding its network by opening about twenty to twenty-five stores a year, and consequently a significant increase in number of workstations, Prosol needed to optimize the deployment time of new sites and simplify technical support for users.

In 2011, the department was seeking ways to streamline and accelerate deployments of user workstations in response to its growth in retail outlets. The IT department chose RES Software because technical flexibility met the scalability needs for managing existing and new users. Following a successful test phase, Prosol Management deployed RES Software very quickly.

"We wanted to integrate a solution that can adapt to our growing number of outlets while ensuring users have secure access to critical applications to manage the performance of our business. RES Software was an obvious choice because it automates our distributed work environments in record time. The positive results of our test phase convinced us to rapidly deploy RES Software in all of our stores, "says Sebastien Bossu, CIO Prosol Management.

Benefits:

 Reduced response times
Faster deployments of key business applications

Automated deployment of Windows security and business software across the organization

RES Software will support Prosol Management in opening 25 new stores in 2012.
