Ping Identity: Guarding against cyber-attacks during Black Friday and Cyber Monday

November 2022 by Rob Otto, EMEA field CTO at Ping Identity

Ahead of Black Friday tomorrow and Cyber Monday, a comment from Rob Otto, Field CTO EMEA at Ping Identity, on how to impress customers during the holiday shopping season.

“Good deals alone are not enough anymore, as we now live in an era where brand reputation and customer experience are more important than just who offers the lowest prices. With competition growing increasingly fierce on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the entire holiday shopping season, retailers must deliver simple digital experiences and guard against cyber-attacks in order to impress customers from the very start. eCommerce sites must not only be prepared for the surge in traffic, but also for the potential cyber risks that come with it.

“In fact, we recently found that 61% of customers would switch to a competitor who offered an easier digital experience. And with the recession looming, in a boiling pot of a cost-of-living crisis, it’s vital that companies do everything they can to retain and attract new customers – this means adapting to the growing need for convenience while ensuring identity protection, which safeguards against customer loss on Black Friday, Cyber Monday and beyond.”
