MyLife Digital celebrates ISO 27001 certification

MyLife Digital is delighted to announce its successful certification for the ISO 27001 information security standard.
Audited by LRQA, MyLife Digital ran various early initiatives as part of the robust requirements for certification. It also implemented a rigorous staff training and awareness programme for information security, as well as running effective risk assessment and risk treatment activities.
John Hall, CEO of MyLife Digital, commenting on the achievement, says, “As an organisation handling the personal data of millions of citizens, it is absolutely essential that we develop our business based upon comprehensive and robust security principles.
“The decision to undertake ISO 27001 certification was very simple: it is widely acknowledged as the solid foundation expected of any credible organisation entrusted with keeping data secure. At the same time, it was never solely about successful certification. It was about strengthening our growing business and its activities, to provide the levels of resilience, confidence and trust expected by those customers who use our services.

The many benefits of ISO 27001 include the ability to minimise risk, promote best practice and capabilities, and reduce costs. The LRQA assessor remarked in his report that MyLife Digital’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) was a “high quality management system, effectively implemented and managed with the support of an engaged, professional and competent team”.
