June 2015 by Marc Jacob

The Hosting & Telco operator Monaco Telecom, announced the launch of DC3, a high security Data Center in the heart of the Principality. This strategic investment in digital development leverages Monaco’s exceptional location and the operator’s unique expertise in the field for local and international companies.

The installation is Tier III compliant and was designed and built to provide multi-level physical security, high density electrical installations, and infrastructure redundancy to guarantee excellent business continuity 24/7/365

At the heart of Monaco Telecom’s network, DC3 will reap all the benefits of the company’s unique Hosting & Telco operator status, the Principality’s connectivity, the Europe-India Gateway landing point, and connectivity with World-leading carriers (Level3, Vodafone, Tata, Colt, Verizon, Orange…)

This new 200-racks Data Center adds to the 130 racks already occupied by customers and operator partners in two existing Data Centers. Private and Public Companies in the Principality will be able to outsource with confidence all or part of their IT with the assurance that data remain in Monaco.

On a broader regional and international scale, economic players requiring a hosting location in a stable and neutral environment will find high performance infrastructures in Monaco, ensuring available and secured data. DC3 is the first step in an exceptional new economic sector for the Principality.

The modular infrastructure was entirely built by Monaco companies, in partnership with world-class equipment manufacturers (Schneider Electric, SDMO, Emerson, Schroff, and Chubb), and offers both colocation and tailored private rooms. As part of an environmental responsible approach, Monaco Telecom decided to be compliant with the EU Code of Conduct best practices for energy efficiency, and implemented cold corridor containment technology for its cooling system.

According to Martin Péronnet, Chief Executive Officer at Monaco Telecom, “The new Data Center is an important step forward for Monaco Telecom and corresponds to our desire to play an active role in the attractiveness and independence of the Principality by providing hosting infrastructures services of the highest level. DC3 is part of a long-term strategy for businesses in Monaco and beyond. Our first customers will be installed in July”.
