Mimecast Achieves United States – European Union Safe Harbor Certification

Mimecast®, a supplier of cloud-based email security, continuity, policy control and archiving, announced that it has received the U.S. Department of Commerce’s United States-European Union Safe Harbor certification. The certification indicates that Mimecast’s Unified Email Management (UEM) solution meets the privacy protection mandates defined by the directive.
Mimecast’s certification provides added support for the company’s international business through the complex ecosystem between the U.S.’s permissive discovery regime and the E.U.’s comprehensive privacy laws. International regulations of all sorts threaten to negatively impact organizations by applying another layer of complexity onto already overburdened IT systems. The certification of Mimecast’s cloud-based UEM solution removes this particular hurdle from organizations’ paths. The Safe Harbor framework ensures compliant messaging to all 27 members of the E.U. for Mimecast customers and offers a simple, cost-effective means of complying with the adequacy requirements of the Directive, which benefit enterprises of all sizes as they expand and operate internationally.
