Leading Global Financial Institution Chooses Perspecsys to Help Protect $1 Trillion Dollars in Assets

Perspecsy announced
that one of the largest private financial institutions in the world has selected the
Perspecsys AppProtex Cloud Data Control Gateway to mitigate risk, ensure compliance
with data residency requirements and protect data confidentiality and privacy. The
Fortune 500 enterprise, that manages nearly $1 trillion dollars in assets, places
data compliance and information security as one of its top IT and business
priorities. They conducted a comprehensive review of cloud security gateways and
ultimately chose Perspecsys as a result of its unique data security approach and
ability to quickly support its cloud adoption programs. The gateway platform’s
scalable tokenization and encryption techniques enables data stored and processed in
the cloud to remain compliant while ensuring cloud application users to have full
use of cloud functionality such as searching, sorting and reporting of sensitive
information.
After a comprehensive evaluation, the company selected the world’s leading Cloud
SaaS platform, based in the U.S., for its CRM solution. It quickly became apparent
that various legal and regulatory data compliance requirements in place across the
globe would prevent several critical projects being deployed in countries throughout
Europe and Asia. Many of these requirements mandate that sensitive data cannot be
exported outside the boundaries of specific geographic jurisdictions. Perspecsys is
designed to ease compliance with these challenging regulations by giving the
organization the ability to maintain control over all sensitive data and IP,
protecting it with tokenization before it leaves each country or region and enters
the cloud. Key criteria for the ultimate selection of Perspecsys’ AppProtex Gateway
included its ability to maintain the CRM platform’s functionality (i.e. Search,
sorting and reporting) without sacrificing the strength of the underlying security
technique deployed to protect the data.
When looking at the market implications of cloud data residency, Brian Lowans,
Principal Research Analyst at Gartner noted, "The identification of sensitive data
should form part of an enterprise’s governance and security strategy. The protection
is required to prevent access by government authorities and agencies while data
resides in or is passing through other jurisdictions." (1)
