Interoute Virtual Data Centre wins Innovation in Outsourcing Award
December 2012 by Marc Jacob
Interoute, owner operator of Europe’s largest cloud services platform, won the Innovation in Outsourcing award for its Virtual Data Centre (VDC) at the Datacenter Dynamics Awards. A scalable, fully automated Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution, Interoute VDC provides on-demand computing, storage and applications integrated into the heart of an IT infrastructure.
Interoute’s VDC was selected for the hands on data centre like control it offers. Users can replicate any physical data centre architecture, corporate IT environment or major Software-as-a-Service platforms automatically, whilst retaining the exact same level of performance and security that they would have with a physical data centre. The Innovation in Outsourcing Award underlines the importance of advanced outsourcing services that are aligned with market business requirements.
With Interoute VDC, organisations are given the same level of physical data centre control over an outsourced virtual environment. Organisations can provision entire ICT solutions in their own Virtual Data Centre environment with just a few clicks. Each virtual machine can then be customised with varied CPU, RAM, storage, back up and disaster recovery, to allow bespoke system builds and reduce over-spending on unused resources. Organisations can reboot, power the box on or off and add or delete services at any time.
