July 2009 by Marc Jacob
From the start of the new academic year (2009-2010) the Institute of Applied
Computing in Laval will offer a new option in the context of its Management Masters
in Computer Engineering Systems and Telecoms (M21RT) called Security, Systems and
Networks (SSN). This training is in response to a growing demand from both
companies and individual students.
From the BTS (technical diploma) to a level of five years after the baccalaureat exam the
Institute of Applied Computing offers training perfectly adapted to the professional
domain. On a training period, professional contract or in an apprenticeship, the students
find themselves at the very centre of the company universe, acquiring knowledge,
autonomy and creativity. They are accompanied all through their course by experts from
the professional world.
From the second year (Bac +4) of the Master’s programme (M2RIT) the students of IIA
make a choice between the AGL option-Architecture and Advanced Software and the
SSN option-Security, Systems, Networks, the first year(degree) remaining a common
element for all the students.
For almost 25 years, the Institute of Applied Computing has trained professionals at all
levels BTS (diploma), degree and masters, ready to carry out their functions in a
company as soon as they have obtained their qualification, to develop applications,
manage networks and computer projects… The IIA currently welcomes close to 140
students, with company integration rates at the end of the training of close to 100% and
these students can proudly boast of being graduates of Mayenne’s first computer
training programme.
