Imperva: Hackers exploit Microsoft Vulnerability to exploit earthquake helpers

Imperva’s Application Defence Centre (ADC) has found how hackers have been exploiting a known Microsoft vulnerability where .rtf files are being exploited. This vulnerability was used recently when hackers tried to lure people to click on files with false messages about helping Japanese earthquake victims. This analysis explains how the exploit spreads malware. Interestingly, the hackers evaded Anti Virus and Intrusion Prevention System detection.
