INSIDE Secure names Reid Holmes VP business development, payment, for the Americas

August 2011 by Marc Jacob

INSIDE Secure announced it has named Reid D. Holmes as vice president of business development, payment, for the Americas. Mr. Holmes’ extensive experience in a wide range of payment and mobile technologies, combined with his deep familiarity with members of the payment industry ecosystem, make him ideally suited for bringing INSIDE solutions to major North American accounts.

Holmes will focus on building strategic relationships with major customers in the payment and transit market, as well as helping to define go-to-market strategy for those segments. He will also be responsible for identifying and promoting INSIDE’s payment and transit solutions in North America.

Long active in the smart card industry, Holmes serves on the Smart Card Alliance Payments Council, which brings payment industry stakeholders together to promote adoption of chip-enabled payments and payment applications in the U.S. The Payments Council primarily works through education programs for consumers, merchants, issuers, acquirers/processors, government regulators, mobile telecommunications providers and payments service providers.

Holmes joins INSIDE from Giesecke & Devrient, where he served as senior sales manager for emerging payment and transportation sales. There he was responsible for product and service revenue through direct and channel sales. He also launched NFC mobile payment programs for tier-one bank customers.

Prior to Giesecke & Devrient he headed an independent consultancy, providing business development and support for electronic funds and benefits transfer services. Previous experience includes serving as vice president for Visa, Inc. where he directed the emerging markets technology project management office to support development and deployment of new payment products and channels including four smart contact chip card programs with more than 14 million credit cards for Tier 1 banks. Before Visa, he served as technical and management consultant for electronic banking and systems integration clients. Holmes earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Virginia Tech.
