Huawei unveils its CCTV portfolio

June 2016 by Marc Jacob

Huawei, a global provider of ICT solutions, will be attending IFSEC International 2016 this week. Huawei will unveil a full range of security products and solutions for customers and partners in booth F1050 under the theme of "Matrix Intelligence, Agile Security".

With the increasing popularity of high-definition surveillance, traditional security architecture fails to meet the requirements of efficient big data analytics for massive videos. At IFSEC, Huawei will launch the industry’s first "Matrix Intelligence" CCTV solutions. Different from the traditional CCTV systems with video storage, playback and single-point intelligence as core functionalities, Huawei "Matrix Intelligence” solutions look at intelligent analysis for big data, enable computing resource scheduling, and allow dispersed resources to get involved in intelligent analysis. This quickly helps to locate important data, improve decision-making efficiency, and boost the next generation of core engines in safe city systems.

Based on years of acquired expertise in video codec algorithms, network transmission, cloud storage and cloud computing, Huawei will showcase a series of security products with excellent industrial designs and core technologies at IFSEC 2016, including:

H.265: FHD for all scenarios

Huawei H.265 is a series of HD network cameras that have advanced H.265 encoding technologies and superior ISP image processing capabilities. This provides a full HD video collection for all scenarios under complex weather conditions and different lighting conditions. These cameras can also support a variety of intelligent behavior analysis and metadata collection/object classification.

Huawei Video Content Management (VCM) platforms
Huawei’s Video Content platforms use intelligent analysis to retrieve data within seconds from ten billions of records, and provide references for highly-efficient decision making. It uses cluster architecture, and thus it supports elastic expansion and 10,000+ concurrent channels of intelligent analysis computing capabilities using a distributed database and search engine. Compared with traditional servers for intelligent analysis, these platforms offer high computing density, which free up the equipment room space by 50% and reduce energy consumption by 25%.

Huawei Video Cloud Node (VCN)

Based on the advanced architecture for distributed cloud storage, Huawei Video Cloud Node (VCN) increases the efficiency of resource utilization through cloud computing technology. The dedicated patented technology SafeVideo helps the VCN system be automatically restored from faults and ensures the data reliability up to 99.999%. The entire VCN system supports elastic expansion and achieves a linear increase of performance in line with capacity growth, which supports the sustainable development of the customer’s business.

In addition, Huawei offers security products and solutions that converge a variety of ICT capacities. These include PowerCube500 integrated site surveillance systems that integrate solar-powered and wireless network transmission equipments, eLTE Rapid Deployment Broadband Trunking systems, and TE30 videoconferencing tactical systems.

Huawei is dedicated to building service-driven ICT infrastructures and jointly innovating in the security industry with global partners. It is compatible with products of vendors in the industry through an open technology architecture. Huawei is committed to helping governments and enterprises improve capabilities of crisis prevention, emergency handling and quick decision making, as well as helping users build smarter, more efficient security systems.

Currently, Huawei CCTV and Safe City Solutions serve more than 30 countries worldwide, 100 regions and cities, and have built a more secure environment for over 400 million people.
