French National Gendarmerie chooses GALITT to design its corporate card management application

From the 90ies, public administrations are moving toward electronic solutions, so-called “e Government”. Such solutions make administrative services more accessible by the users as well as internal running more efficient. In this context, the French National Gendarmerie decides in 2009 to secure the access of work stations through a smartcard, a secured device and a card management Web application.
Since June 2008, the French National Gendarmerie runs its own management infrastructure for public keys. The project, initiated at the end of 2009, consists in changing the authentication method of the information system, currently based on login/password, by the use of a corporate smartcard supporting a PIN code. At the end of the RFP, the National Gendarmerie selected GALITT to develop this corporate card management application.
The software developed by GALITT is a thin client Web application which allows the National Gendarmerie to manage professional smartcard requests and life cycle of the staffs who have a working station access and are authorized to achieve to this application.
