Eaton Provides Easy Access to UPS Commissioning and Maintenance Services

September 2013 by Marc Jacob

Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton has launched a new intervention service pack for its customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The pack gives users of the company’s Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) products more convenient access to commissioning and routine maintenance services. The new offering can be purchased off-the-shelf from approved Eaton resellers and has been carefully formulated to give end users peace of mind by ensuring that work on their systems will be carried out at a fixed price by fully trained Eaton technicians.

Customers purchasing Eaton’s intervention service packs, which are designed for users of hard-wired UPSs, receive a contract document that fully describes the service options covered, a unique registration code, and a list of Eaton call centres throughout the EMEA region.

After registering the contract online, the customer simply contacts the nearest call centre when they are ready to use one of the services provided by the intervention pack and specifies whether they require commissioning or routine maintenance for their UPS installation. A mutually convenient date for the work is then agreed.

Each intervention pack can be used once for either a commissioning or a maintenance visit to the customer’s site, and the price paid for the pack is fully inclusive – there are no additional call-out or mileage charges. The price of the pack does not, however, cover additional work that may be needed during commissioning if installation guidelines have not been correctly followed, or repairs and replacements that may be necessary when carrying out routine maintenance.

The new intervention pack is the latest addition to Eaton’s range of distributed service products, which also includes warranty extensions, battery exchange programs and extended technician interventions. This range has been carefully formulated to cover all types of Eaton UPS products, whether they are plug-and-play or hard-wired types, and to provide the highest level of protection for customers’ equipment to ensure the smooth operation of their businesses.
