April 2015 by Marc Jacob
Dot Hill Systems Corp. announced availability of its new innovative AssuredSAN® 6000 Series arrays optimised for key vertical markets including telecommunications infrastructure, network management, video surveillance, service providers, high performance computing (HPC) and other Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
The AssuredSAN 6000 Series solution includes new high performance dual active redundant controllers with 40GB of total system cache, which allows the array to provide up to 12GB/sec of sustained read performance and 5.7GB/sec sustained write-performance. The AssuredSAN 6554 features eight 12Gb SAS ports for host connectivity. Dot Hill AssuredSAN 6000 Series arrays also leverage Dot Hill’s patented RealStream™ software technology, a component of RealStor™, (see Dot Hill Announces RealStream Software Technology that Dramatically Increases Throughput of Bandwidth-Intensive Applications, also announced today) to support up to three times the throughput1 for applications involving complex Internet workloads.
The first Dot Hill 6000 Series arrays are available with the Ultra56™ AssuredSAN ultra-density chassis, which supports up to 1.5 petabytes of capacity using 248 devices with any combination of SSDs and HDDs. In addition, AssuredSAN 6004 models meet both NEBS Level 3 carrier and MIL-STD government requirements. In the telecommunications market segment, NEBS equipment is required to meet carrier grade environmental standards for the highest possible reliability and availability. All AssuredSAN 6004 models deliver Dot Hill’s proven 99.999 percent data availability and feature platinum-rated power supplies.
