Contactless LEGIC multi-application from Gantner in the new leisure pool Asia Spa in Leoben/Austria

January 2009 by Marc Jacob

’’Let’s jump into the Au,“ is, a few years ago, what children in the upper styrian university town Leoben used to say when they wanted some carefree fun in the water. Today, they go to the “Chinese’’. And not just to enjoy exotic delicacies in the bistro or restaurant, but more to experience the unique world of water in the Far East ambience of the newly opened Asia Spa.

A LEGIC based system supplied by GANTNER Electronic GmbH ensures smooth operation when entering or exiting changing rooms, making cashless payments, and when passing between different areas of the spa. The locker security system is available in cabled online versions in order to provide the greatest possible degree of security and an overview of available capacity. Guests at the Falkensteiner Hotel, which is connected to the Asia Spa via an underground tunnel, can use services in the spa as well as the restaurant simply and without cash thanks to an interface set up between the hotel’s software and the spa management system.

Alongside several pools, the Asia Spa, which is maintained in bright, warm colours, boasts a family pool, massage and a wave machine as well as a water tower with a giant turbo slide. The Asia Spa Relax & Sauna was designed to integrate the five elements of traditional Chinese medicine – earth, metal, fire, wood and water – within the architectural design; as well as a number of saunas and steam rooms, a Lotus bath and outside salt water bath invite guests to relax. The doctors in the health centre bring together traditional Chinese medicine and European traditional medicine under the ’’Eurasiamed” programme.
