Clavister Recognised for Global Product Quality Leadership in Enterprise Firewall Market
June 2013 by Marc Jacob
Clavister has announced that it has received the Product Quality Leadership Award for the Global Enterprise Firewall market for 2012 from Frost & Sullivan, the global industry analyst firm.
The Product Quality Leadership Award is given to the company that demonstrates excellence in delivering reliable, effective, and scalable solutions to defend against the most advanced security threats. It recognises Clavister’s focus on quality in the design, performance, reliability and usability of its next-generation firewall (NGFW) solutions, which give customers superior threat protection and increase their business agility.
The award’s analysis report highlighted the performance of the Clavister range, which includes the world’s fastest 1U firewall, capable of up to 240 Gbps throughput. It also highlighted the reliability and flexibility of the company’s solutions: its carrier-grade appliances offer up to six nines (99.9999%) availability for demanding applications, while its small office firewall products start at $700 and enterprise firewalls at less than $3,000.
Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Chris Rodriguez said: “For enterprise customers, product quality is a key factor when evaluating new technological investments. Security products must be reliable, effective, and scalable to defend against the most advanced and persistent security threats. Therefore, vendors that focus on improving product quality will deliver superior threat protection and enable customers to adopt emerging technologies safely.”
Clavister is developing a new tool for launch in summer 2013 that will enable users to test and configure security gateways virtually before deploying them in a live environment, further simplifying set-up and helping to eliminate vulnerabilities caused by network changes. Clavister’s Workbench software will enable IT and infosecurity staff to provision virtual gateways on a PC, model, and test configurations, rulesets and policies, which can then be automatically transferred to the real gateway when deployed in a live environment.
Clavister also recently announced that it has embedded Qosmos’ ixEngine into its Security Gateway products to provide in-depth application visibility within network traffic. This gives customers enhanced control over application-based security threats, which reduces security risks and exposure to cyber attacks.
