Clavister Launches Next-Generation Firewall Security-as-a-Service Offering

Clavister has announced a new security-as-a-service (SECaaS) solution for resellers and hosting providers, enabling them to provision and manage virtual next-generation firewall (NGFW) solutions to secure customers’ virtualized environments, with no need for upfront capital investment in security appliances by the partner. Clavister’s SECaaS enables partners to profit immediately from reselling the services.
Clavister’s SECaaS offering is based on its award-winning Virtual Series Gateway NGFW solutions. Resellers who want to set-up virtual NGFWs to protect their customers’ virtualized environments simply use Clavister’s web SECaaS configurator to configure the service to the customer’s specific needs. These include setting firewall throughput and choosing next-generation features including IPS, IDS, application control, content filtering, antivirus and VPN capability. The configurator then calculates the monthly cost per license, and the service can be deployed to protect the customer’s environment within minutes.
No purchase of physical appliances is needed by either the partner or customer. Partners can simply deploy and manage hundreds or thousands of individual Clavister Virtual Series Gateways as a SECaaS offering, with a high degree of flexibility and pay-as-you-go pricing.
According to Clavister, its SECaaS offering is unique in enabling both partners and end-users to enjoy the advantages of individual security with no upfront costs and flexible provisioning. John Vestberg, CEO of Clavister said: “We’re enabling resellers and hosting providers to offer security services to their customers using the same advanced technology that protects enterprise networks. What’s more, they can generate profit on it from day one, with no upfront capital costs. Analysts agree that the market for SECaaS services nearly trebled in 2012, and is predicted to grow by a further 50% in the next three years, so this presents a great opportunity for resellers to differentiate themselves, attract new business and upsell their existing customer base."

The SECaaS license cost per month to the hosting provider ranges from €15 to €30 for a 50Mbps virtual NGFW, depending on the specific features enabled.
Earlier in 2013, global industry analyst Frost & Sullivan gave Clavister its ‘Product Quality Leadership Award’ for the performance, design and simplicity of its NGFW solutions.
