Canopy Enhances Enterprise Private Cloud with the Power of EMC Federation Enterprise Hybrid Cloud
May 2015 by Marc Jacob
Canopy - the Atos Cloud – announced that it has updated its Cloud offering with EMC’s Federation Enterprise Hybrid Cloud (FEHC). Canopy’s Enterprise Private Cloud (EPC) creates a bridge between the safe harbor of private cloud and the added flexibility and scalability of public cloud.
Already a Platinum EMC Business Partner, Canopy has achieved certification status for EMC Enterprise Hybrid Cloud implementation and is on track to become one of the first EMC partners to achieve Federation Ready credentials for Enterprise Hybrid Cloud. Federation Ready EMC Business Partners are able to sell and deliver EMC solutions by leveraging the power of the EMC Federation.
With Canopy’s enhanced EPC, clients can take advantage of cloud bursting – temporary use of Canopy’s shared, global multi-tenant cloud for additional computing capacity – to scale infrastructure when required. For example, retailers can better handle online shopping peaks, and manufacturing application development support. This new service can be provided to clients using the Canopy EPC.
The Canopy EPC provides customers with greater freedom of choice and peace of mind with a range of hybrid cloud options. Enterprise-critical workloads can be hosted in Canopy’s Enterprise Private Cloud with a choice to place it in an Atos or customer data center, or off-premise in Canopy’s multi-tenant cloud platforms with Cloud Infrastructure Services and Trusted Agile Infrastructure depending on the data locality and sovereignty requirements. When combined with Canopy orchestration and integration solutions , Canopy now offers clients the ability to host workloads in a hybrid fashion on Canopy and third-party public cloud.
Philippe Llorens, CEO at Canopy, said: “Today’s announcement marks an important step in our strategy to engineer, operate and orchestrate cloud services that enable our customers to transform their business. It also demonstrates our strong commitment to hybrid cloud and our alignment to the EMC architecture for both public and private clouds.
For customers, this means greater freedom of choice and peace of mind with a range of hybrid cloud options.
