ACSN and Reliance Cyber Science Merge to Fill the Gaps in Cyber Security Defences

June 2016 by Marc Jacob

London-based global cyber security specialist ACSN Ltd is delighted to announce its merger with Reliance Cyber Science to create RelianceACSN Ltd. The move will see the two companies join forces to help its customers, made up predominantly of large organisations, protect data from cyber-attack in a world where two thirds of large UK businesses were hit by cyber breach or attack in the past year[1].

The merger provides the business with significant development capital to finance an ambitious programme expanding technical skills and technology platforms. It provides access to the extensive Reliance customer base as well as management resources. RelianceACSN have a formidable capacity in implementing innovative technology to deliver first class managed services.

Peter Martin and Eamon Flavin, ACSN founders, will be joined on the board by Brian Kingham, of Reliance Security Group Ltd (and Norland Managed Services) and by Andy Dancer, former founder of encryption company Identum Ltd and Chief Technology Officer EMEA of Trend Micro.

Peter Martin, Managing Director, said: “We have worked with major global brands and businesses for the past 13 years. Our clients are demanding comprehensive solutions protecting the end to end cyber security for their business. Point security solutions don’t work. We see gaps in the market calling out for well-resourced integrated cyber solutions. We are not merely technology providers but a designer and integrator of cyber security solutions. Our key value-add for customers is in continuous real time involvement with intelligence and managing cyber threats across a diverse customer base. Our focus is long term customer relationships and the implementation and continuous delivery of managed solutions. Our merger with Reliance will allow us to rapidly broaden the scope of our operations to engineer and deliver larger, more complex solutions”.

Brian Kingham said: “Cyber security growth is white hot for very good reasons: industry losses are more than £400 billion a year as a result of security breaches. The ACSN team over the last 13 years has earned a reputation for technical excellence in which we will significantly invest, broadening and deepening our market leadership in the years ahead”.

Following the merger all customers will continue to be served by the team they are used to working with, but will be able to benefit, as needed, from additional skills and capabilities drawn from the combined organisation.
